Statement of Beliefs

1. We believe the Bible as recorded in the original Hebrew and Greek manuscripts to be the inspired and only infallible, authoritative Word of God. [1 Thessalonians 2:13; 2 Timothy 3:15-17]

2. We believe that there is one God, eternally existent as the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. [Matthew 28:19; John 10:30; Ephesians 4:4-6]

3. We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory. [Matthew 1:23; John 1:1-4,29; Acts 1:11 & 2:22-24; Romans 8:1-4; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4; 2 Corinthians 5:21; Philippians 2:5-11; Hebrews 1:1-4 & 4:15]

4. We believe that all mankind has sinned, rebelled against our Creator, and faces His righteous judgment.  In order to be saved from our deserved punishment and reconciled to God, we must believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the living God, and repent of our sin. In doing so we receive salvation through grace by faith alone. [Luke 24:46-47; John 14:6; Acts 4:12; Romans 3:23 & 8:1-4; 2 Corinthians 5:10-11; Ephesians 1:7 & 2:8-9; Titus 3:4-7]

5. We believe that those saved are called to water baptism as a public confession that: 1) we identify with Jesus’ death, burial and resurrection; 2) our sins have been washed away; and 3) we desire to follow Christ. [Romans 6:1-10; Acts 2:38; Matthew 3:13-17 & 28:18-20]

6. We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit, who is given to all that believe in Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of sins, who gives all such believers a manifestation of His presence for the common good of the church, and who indwells those believers granting them all that they need to live godly lives. [John 3:5-8; Acts 1:8 & 4:31; Romans 8:9; 1 Corinthians 2:14 & 12:4-11; Galatians 5:16-18; Ephesians 6:12 & 18-21; Colossians 2:6-10]

7. We believe in the resurrection of the dead – the saved unto eternal life in a new heaven and new earth – and the damned unto the second death and eternal punishment. [1 Corinthians 15:51-57; Revelation 20:11-15]
